EducArte's goal is to help families, which through the scarcity of their own resources do not have access to education, health, or even the normal rights and obligations of life. EducArte works principally with the children of these families, who often do not even have access to basic social welfare programmes.

The EducArte School is located 5 kilometres from Antigua , Guatemala , in the municipality of Ciudad Vieja . EducArte is a 100% Guatemalan NGO, organised and founded during the 2002 holidays by Alejandra Hernandez and a group of her friends.

EducArte strives to achieve its goals though the implementation of a variety of academic activities, as well as extra-curricular activities such as arts and trades. It is important that if our children do not reach the end of their schooling, they will still have access to better jobs through the wide range of skills acquired in their time in EducArte.

We believe that all of the aforementioned is achieved predominately through education, effort and consistency. We offer our families the base to construct a better life, and we believe that this base is EDUCATION .

Currently, we rely on the help of people who work with us voluntarily, sharing with us their time, knowledge and skills. Volunteers come from all over the world to participate in the project, demonstrating their concern and awareness of the social problems of the llocality.

Ideally this battle ought to be fought by the citizens of the country. However, there sometimes exists a lack of social conscience, active citizenship, and willingness to volunteer. Therefore, we appeal to you with the hope of receiving the most important form of help that one can give i.e. ONESELF!

The reason for doing this is because we believe in our children, who are the present and the future of our country, and we know that an educated society leads to development and a better life for everyone. We ask for your assistance to help our children.

Vision of EducArte

Support to the children either mornings or afternoons given them the opportunity to assist to the art classes, reinforcing and curricular classes approved by the education ministry; or objective is not to replace the scholastic education, but to complement it as well as give the opportunity to they know their rights and obligations and can fight by a worthy life with rights and principles opportunity

EducArte works specifically with children of economic limitations. But this does not mean that is a school for poor children, our programs of education is at the level of any privet educative center.

In Educarte we try to teach to our children love for their families and any people around them, the gratefulness to God by everything what happens in their lives since they are lucky just by the fact to awake every day; for Educarte also is important the patriotism; our children feel the proud of being Guatemalan and they understand that in Guatemala also there are opportunities for their lives.
